Heirloom, 1930's improved version of Radiator Charlie and bred by crossing many varieties until sufficiently large fruits were produced. It is said the breeder actually paid off his mortgage in six years through sales of plants at a dollar a piece. Very large pinkish beefsteak fruits in early season. Meaty fruits up to 500 g (1 lb) each with few seeds and good flavour. Mild and delectable. Performs in drought. Highly productive and disease resistant. Indeterminate.
