1851 Violet Jasper. Fruit weigh 1-3 ounces, are smooth and have good tasting, dark purplish-red flesh. This variety will also amaze you with its high yield. Start seeds 6-8 weeks before planting date. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 23-30ºC. After first true leaves appear, seedlings can be planted into plug trays. Seedlings are best grown at 21 à 24ºC. Plant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed, and night temperatures are above 10ºC.
